In November we’re tasked with approaching challenges from a place of better judgment than in the past. Scorpio season brings an intense, often extreme energy that invites us to sink deeper into our greatest desires and compulsions—and The Sun, Mercury, and Venus moving through Scorpio for the first two weeks of the month make space for indulgences that might feel otherwise feel off limits. Ask yourself who you’re keeping up appearances for: Can you give yourself permission to break some rules, if it isn’t hurting anyone?

The main challenges this month come in the form of shame and discomfort getting in the way of what you want. When traveling, those roadblocks may be language barriers, cultural differences, or a lack of resources or finances. Will you allow these challenges to define your experience? Consider how an act of surrender can free you from discomfort. All signs will want to pay attention to the lunar eclipse on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, which will heighten tensions and bring revelations around the ways in which we grasp certain people and situations in the name of comfort and consistency. What are you forcing, pushing, or holding on to that is ready to be released? Letting go creates room for something better and more aligned.

The mood lightens up halfway through the month as planets shift into fiery Sagittarius, a sign associated with travel, spirituality, beliefs, and philosophical pursuits. It’s a season for dreaming big and making plans for the future. Ideas and visions that you had earlier this year may be reawakened. For starters: Where will you go in 2023? Now is the time to start envisioning what you want for yourself, and the Sagittarius New Moon on November 23 is an excellent time to set intentions around where you’d like to travel in the new year and the types of experiences you’re craving. Don’t hold back.

Astrologer's note: Below we refer to your signs as “rising” signs, also known as your ascendant sign. Horoscopes are more accurate when read this way—using your birth time and location, you can quickly find your rising sign online (it takes less than 30 seconds).

Aries Rising

We enter November in the middle of powerful eclipses that are bringing attention to the attachments and power struggles in your life. You’ll move from a space of deep contemplation around how to create and maintain consistent avenues of support, to a space of imagination and faith as you dream up your next big moves. This month, travel could be the refuge you need to escape the intensity of life and become reacquainted with your interests and aspirations. Your ruling planet, Mars, stationed retrograde on October 30 and will remain in rewind-mode until January 12, 2023, signaling that this season is for you to pause and turn inward—that will color your experience of the next few months. While there might not be a lot going on externally, your wheels are spinning internally as you prepare for launching forward with new ideas and ventures in 2023. A lunar eclipse in Taurus on Tuesday, November 8, brings attention to your spending. Are you finally ready to splurge on those expensive plane tickets, or that five-star hotel? Whatever the eclipse reveals to you about your finances will help make that decision very clear.

Mid-month, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus all enter Sagittarius, which for you is all about foreign places and people, long-distance travel, as well as spirituality and beliefs. If you’re already abroad while these planets move through Sagittarius from November 15 to December 21, you’re bound to have exciting experiences that will help renew your outlook on life. If travel isn’t in your November plans, you’ll find plenty of inspiration for planning your next big trip. Looking forward, know that a great time for you to travel abroad would be February through mid-May while Jupiter travels through Aries—especially when it comes to warm places, exciting destinations that require a lot of physical activity, and spiritual journeys.

Taurus Rising

November is a relationship-forward month for you, so get ready for lots of quality time with friends over the next few weeks. The solar eclipse in Scorpio on Tuesday, October 25, was all about starting a new cycle in relationships and partnership—and Venus, your ruling planet, is also moving through Scorpio for the first two weeks of November, making this time especially partner-oriented. If you’re interested in dating while traveling, consider this the moment to put yourself out there. There are plenty of opportunities to connect with others in dynamic, unexpected ways.

The accompanying lunar eclipse on Tuesday, November 8 is in Taurus, turning the spotlight inward and imploring you to reflect on how much you’ve changed in the last year since the Taurus lunar eclipse on November 18, 2021. Have you surprised yourself with how far you’ve come? Halfway through this month, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus all leave Scorpio for Sagittarius, a part of your chart that has to do with your emotional and financial debts, as well as to how you give and receive support in your relationships. In placing a greater focus on this area of your life, you may become very aware of your debts and burdens, as well as any needs for more assistance, whether it’s through better financial planning or therapy or counseling. The Sagittarius New Moon on November 23 is excellent for starting anew on these fronts which could look like finding a new therapist or starting a new savings account for your next big trip. While Mars is retrograde until January 12 you will want to be more cautious around your spending: instead of going all-in on booking something ambitious, use this time to explore your options. You may already have travel plans during Capricorn season, from December 21 to January 20, though, as that's the time of year when foreign travel becomes a more active area of your life. Tl;dr: If you've already booked something, you'll have a great time; otherwise watch your wallet for a little longer, even though the impulse to hit the road may strike.

Gemini Rising

Ask Alexa to play “Work” by Rihanna because that’s your theme for most of this month. Your ruling planet Mercury moves through Scorpio for the first half of the month, bringing your attention to your day-to-day grind. Additionally, Mars, the planet responsible for work, is retrograde in Gemini until January 12, re-emphasizing the importance of creating and maintaining a work-life balance that’s healthy mentally and physically. What roles are you best suited to right now? What are you working toward? Your career path becomes a greater focus for the next few years, and this month is an important time to create goals for yourself.

As you seek balance, a lunar eclipse in Taurus on Tuesday, November 8, could bring a seemingly urgent need for retreat and recalibration. Take care of yourself—it might mean getting out of town for a few days. You do your best mental processing when surrounded by nature, after all. If you can get to the mountains or forest, you won’t regret it. Otherwise, find the nearest park and just sit and be. If you happen to be traveling during the first two weeks of the month, don’t be surprised if you find yourself less social than usual. In fact, you may begin to crave something familiar if you’re particularly far from home. Do what you need to find ways to comfort yourself.

Halfway through the month, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus move into Sagittarius which signals a big shift in focus toward relationships. By November 17 you’ll feel much more social and excited to connect with others—just in time for the holidays. Prepare for lovely reunions throughout the remainder of the month, where you’ll very likely run into old friends and flames, reminding you of how much you’ve evolved. The Sagittarius new moon on Wednesday, November 23, begins a new cycle in how you relate to and connect with others. This is a great time for planning new adventures with a loved one. Here’s a tip for planning ahead: Leo season 2023, July 23 to August 22, looks great for a road trip.

Cancer Rising

The first two weeks of November are all about pleasure and passion for you. Over the past year you’ve been investigating and discovering what truly excites you, and what sparks your creativity. You’re presented with opportunities to reflect on that this month, so say yes to any invitations that light you up inside. If you’re traveling, look for unusual and unique experiences to try, such as exploring caves, or check out a local bathhouse—maybe even receive divination from a local reader or seer. Any activity that involves going deep is right up your alley. Additionally, this is a great time for group excursions and having fun with your friends or community. A lunar eclipse in Taurus on November 8 highlights your communal relationships and brings revelations around who your biggest supporters are. Who are you, in the context of the groups that you’re a part of? What do you bring to group dynamics? Perhaps you’re the planner, initiating activities and gatherings. If so, this could be a great time to propose your next friend trip. Pisces season 2023 from February 20 to March 19 could have you craving foreign lands and waters. There’s a freedom you’re craving that letting go in another country may offer.

Halfway through the month, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus all leave Scorpio for Sagittarius, which for you means less play, more work. Things get busier and busier on the job as you do your best to abide by systems you already have in place. Don’t be surprised if things feel a little sloppier than usual, this isn’t a time for precision but rather for conceptual, big-picture thinking. You’re a visionary and you’re being invited to dream big, especially in regard to the potential for what your work can do for you and others. The Sagittarius new moon on November 23 emphasizes a need for something fresh as it kicks off a new cycle for work and wellness. How are your daily habits supporting your mental and physical wellbeing? It can be especially difficult to maintain balance while traveling, so do your best to assess your needs and go from there.

Leo Rising

As you move through major transformations in your career and public identity, you’re finding it increasingly difficult to dedicate time and energy to your home life. There are seasons for everything, and Scorpio season in particular draws focus to your foundation, family, and roots. As planets move through this sign over the first two weeks of November, your attention is split between increased activity at home and a big moment in your career. The Taurus lunar eclipse on Tuesday, November 8, is an especially important day of the month, where you can expect revelations regarding your profession and heightened visibility. You’re being pulled in many different directions right now, but try to maintain your center of gravity as you navigate the difficult weather surrounding the eclipse. If you’re away from home during this time, connecting with your family (biological and/or chosen), even just on a video call, could help you feel more grounded.

If you’re at home, allow yourself this short period of time to really re-root yourself. Become reacquainted with the great indoors, and know that there’s plenty of travel on the horizon in 2023. You could certainly use a nice long vacation down the road, so why not start planning for one now? Aries season from March 20 to April 19 will be a prime time for you to travel overseas, so start thinking about a dream destination—ideally, somewhere you can have new, exhilarating experiences—and create a budget. It will give you something to look forward while moving through the winter months. Halfway through November, The Sun, Mercury and Venus will enter Sagittarius, sparking a few weeks of fun times that you could really use. The last two weeks of the month are a great time for group hangs close to home, like going to a show or concert. A Sagittarius new moon on Wednesday, November 23, signals the beginning of a new cycle around pleasure, fun, and creativity, so lean into any sparks of inspiration and roll with it.

Virgo Rising

The first two weeks of November challenge you to confront discomfort and uncertainty as your outlook on life continues to transform. Expect a series of difficult interactions for the first week of the month leading to a lunar eclipse in Taurus on Tuesday, November 8. Consider blowing off steam by staying busy. If you’re traveling, you may find yourself in unexpected situations that shock you into seeing life from a new perspective. It’s important not to fight the changes happening around you during this time, but rather surrender to the current of where life is taking you. There isn’t much for you to do outside of being curious and open to change—remember that your ability to step out of your comfort zone and see the world is a major aspect of your ever-evolving identity. Notice if you become pulled toward a new culture or destination that really speaks to you and investigate that interest. There are still so many places for you to explore next year. If you haven’t been able to travel as much as you would have liked this year due to work or health issues, relief to those challenges comes by next spring when you’ll likely have more time, energy, and resources for a proper vacation. From May 2023 through the end of the year, your travel dreams have a greater possibility of becoming realized, so make time for daydreaming then start planning.

By mid-month, a lot of the tension from the first half of November majorly shifts as Mercury, your ruling planet, moves out of intense Scorpio and into more fun-loving Sagittarius. While this isn’t the most straightforward or resourceful period of the year for you, it’s a time where your focus draws toward your home and family life, allowing you to settle. Whether you’re traveling back to where you grew up or hosting others in your own home, consider this the time to gather and have fun with the folks you’re most familiar with. A Sagittarius new moon on November 23 punctuates the end of the month with feelings of hope and renewal around life at home—regardless of if you’re settled for the season or heading back on the road, find time to reconnect with whatever home and family mean to you.

Libra Rising

November is all about planning for the future as planets move through parts of the sky that relate to money, finances, investments, and debts. Is the way you're making a living right now serving you? You’ve been involved in a transformation process around your resources and attachments, and you’ve continuously been called to let go of ways of living that aren’t right for you anymore. It’s hard to trust that you’ll land safely when making these changes, so give yourself time and space to feel it out. Finances might feel tight or stagnant this month as Mars, the planet responsible for your money, is retrograde until January 12. You may feel it’s especially difficult to indulge. It’s important to have fun though, especially if you’re traveling, so do some homework on how to enjoy your destination on a budget—be willing to get creative.

Mars is also retrograde in your sector of foreign travel, so it’s a good time to start researching potential destinations for future trips, and budget accordingly. Spend time sifting through options, as it’s best that you hold off on a final decision until the new year rolls around. A lunar eclipse in Taurus on Tuesday, November 8, puts a spotlight on your debts—both emotional and financial. With more clarity on your situation you can make a plan on how to move forward and prepare for future trips and other expenses. Work picks up quite a bit in November, so expect to spend more time than usual in the office or at your job—you might see yourself traveling for work as well. Mid-month, a slew of planets move from Scorpio into Sagittarius, making the last two weeks of November much more busy and social for you. It’s a great time for gathering with old friends and getting out close to home. When was the last time you went bar hopping or saw a show? Find ways of having fun locally while you dream up grander journeys.

Scorpio Rising

Surrender is a major theme in November as your focus draws inward toward healing yourself, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We kick off the month with the Sun, Mercury, and Venus all in Scorpio, making you more attractive and exciting to others. If you’re traveling during the first three weeks of November, don’t be surprised if you’re being noticed more than usual—allow yourself to glow and own any feelings that brings to the surface. In fact, there’s a high chance that you’ll find yourself in strange and surprising interactions with others this month, especially around the Taurus lunar eclipse on Tuesday, November 8. This eclipse will bring revelations about relationships and your patterning within them. Regardless of what happens, try not to get caught up in what you think you owe other people. In fact, a huge part of your ruling planet Mars’ retrograde is about clearing out and releasing narratives around shame and guilt. It’s a process, and you deserve support through it, so don’t be afraid to reach out to others when you need them.

At the end of the month, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus all shift into Sagittarius, drawing your focus toward your spending. Are you finally ready to splurge on booking that amazing villa you’ve been eyeing for months? Whatever you’re spending your money on in the last two weeks of November, make sure it satisfies you in some way. You’re being invited to really indulge in pleasure, creativity, and fun, especially while Jupiter hangs out in Pisces until December 19. Live it up—Jupiter won’t be back here again until 2033. Your creative inspiration is at a high during this time so allow yourself to get a bit carried away, especially if you’re on vacation. Then, a new moon in Sagittarius on November 23 is a great time to make new purchases, especially related to travel. (Maybe you’re ready to start a savings account just for something special next year…)

Sagittarius Rising

If you enter November feeling a bit untethered, know that clarity will come soon enough. The first two weeks of the month mark a time of inward reflection and contemplation, and a focus on both mental and physical health. What small things can you do every day to ensure your basic needs are met? Especially if you’re traveling, what do those routines look like that keep you balanced and centered? If it takes a while to feel like you’re back in your body, that’s okay. Give yourself as much time and space as you need. The first two weeks of November present an excellent opportunity to get out of town purely for the sake of processing your emotions with fewer distractions. Nature will suit you well, and bonus points if there’s a hot tub that you can soak in for a while. The important thing is that you tend to your physical needs in support of your mental and emotional processing. Make sure you’re eating enough, drinking enough water, getting enough sleep, all the good stuff. An electric lunar eclipse in Taurus on Tuesday, November 8, puts a spotlight on your physical health and wellness, or lack thereof. Take it easy around this time, especially if you’re on the road. Maintaining a solid physical practice will help keep you steady when startling shifts occur. Know that with eclipses, tensions are heightened and issues often appear more urgent than they are, so try not to make rash decisions in the heat of the moment.

Mid-November, a major shift happens when Venus, Mercury, and the Sun all enter Sagittarius, bringing you out of the clouds and back into reality. You should start to feel more like yourself toward the end of the month, especially when a new moon in Sagittarius on November 23 sparks a new cycle for identity and physical embodiment. You’re coming back into yourself and that’s something to celebrate. Tensions in your relationships could be keeping you from fully expressing who you are right now, but remember: don’t let anyone dim your light or discourage you from taking up space.

Capricorn Rising

November starts off as a fairly social month for you (probably because you have so many Scorpio friends) but it ends in retreat mode, giving you time and space to explore your own mind and psyche in a setting that supports you doing so.

At the beginning of the month, there's a focus on friends and community: expect to be introduced to new people and groups that intrigue and inspire you. You could also find yourself reuniting with old friends, especially as folks travel home during the holidays. Cherish these moments with loved ones old and new, for the joy you experience in community propels you through the winter months. You may be enticed to hit the road and explore your local area more, perhaps by visiting a nearby town or finding a cool spa for a day trip. There’s an emphasis on centering pleasure, especially around the Taurus lunar eclipse on Tuesday, November 8. You’ve been pulled in so many different directions lately, especially when figuring out how to allocate resources and find support. While you have clear desires and creative projects you’re nearly ready to throw yourself into, insecurity about the stability of your finances and resources may be holding you back. Hold off on making any quick decisions around this eclipse and see if you can give yourself a few weeks to process your emotions as things unfold. You may feel rushed to act but before you do, ask yourself where the haste is coming from.

Mid-month, you begin to withdraw further into yourself, to a point where you may not want to be very social at all. If you can carve out time in the last two weeks of November to get out of dodge and indulge in a solo adventure, you’ll be glad you did. If a full trip isn’t in the cards for you, look up some areas for a day trip or solo hike. Getting out of town to clear your head will serve you well at the end of an exhausting month, and you deserve it. This is also a great time to dive into a project, especially if it involves writing or research—so find a cozy spot with a fireplace and get lost in your work.

Aquarius Rising

As November kicks off, you find yourself getting serious about your career path with more confidence and support than ever before. This journey over the last three years has been anything but easy, yet you’re able to see the light at the end of the tunnel more clearly these days, and more activity in your professional life is giving you a boost, allowing you to be seen and celebrated. As opportunities come in, you’re still tasked with asking yourself the big questions around what you want to be known for. Maybe what you’ve been doing just isn’t cutting it anymore and you’re ready for something new. Mars, the planet responsible for your career, is retrograde until January 12, giving you over two months to dive deep into research and creation mode so that you can figure out what direction to go next. You don’t (and probably shouldn’t) have to make any big decisions right now, just see what ideas come to you and explore.

A lunar eclipse in Taurus on Tuesday, November 8, draws your focus toward your home and family. Perhaps this is a time where your attention is needed by relatives; you may experience shocking revelations regarding the home or family, such as a realization that it’s time to move, or a need to renovate parts of the home. To be prepared, be sure you have systems of support in place so that any potential jolts to your foundation can be mitigated. You can exhale a bit once we get to the middle of the month when Venus, Mercury, and the Sun all enter Sagittarius, bringing relief to the pressure you’ve been feeling. It’s a lovely time to surround yourself with other travelers or folks from different cultures and backgrounds, both in-person and online in community-oriented spaces. You find a lot of joy in connecting with folks that are different from you, and you’ll have increased opportunities to do so in the latter half of the month. Embrace the support from your community and network, and start making plans for your next excursion—there’s plenty of travel for you in 2023 and beyond.

Pisces Rising

Scorpio season brings a focus to your beliefs, and your broader perspective on life and travel. If you find yourself in transit or far removed from home, live it up while you’re there, seeing the sights and checking out any less-expected scenes. If you’re home and itching to get out of the country, consider waiting until the new year—scratch that itch locally in the meantime. November is a great time to start saving for future travel, but first you may consider asking yourself why you travel in the first place, and what you hope to learn from your experiences. This will help you decide where to go next. For now, your finances are likely going toward maintenance in your home, or traveling home for the holidays, so it might not be the best time to book a five-star vacation, especially if you aren’t 100 percent sure that’s what you want. Try to satisfy your need to get out and about by having fun in your neighborhood or city. A lunar eclipse in Taurus on Tuesday, November 8, could bring unexpected situations while commuting or traveling—keep an eye out during this tense time.

Mid-month, Venus, Mercury, and the Sun all enter Sagittarius and you begin to think more seriously about your ever-evolving career path. You have a unique ability to be positively seen and received by so many different people. If your career doesn’t have an international component yet, maybe it should. Consider the ways in which you’re gifted at facilitating the sharing of important information on a large scale. Maybe there’s a new path for you on the horizon? A Sagittarius new moon on November 23 brings your attention to the possibilities for your future, so shoot high.
